New Delhi: One of the most anticipated films, as the release date of Housefull 5, is near, the film is already creating a discussion at the box office by collecting Rs 3.88 crore through advance booking.
The direction of Tanu Mansukhani is set to release this Friday, June 6. Advance booking began on 1 June, and numbers indicate that the fifth installment of comedy franchise is set to break the record.
The Star-Staded Movie includes Ritish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Bajwa, Jackie Shroff, Jacqueline Fernandez, Ferdin Khan, Chitrangada Singh, Nana Patekar and many more.
According to Sacnilk, Housefull 5 has already sold 25,429 tickets, collecting Rs 90.88 lakh across India, five days before its release date. Its collection in Hindi is Rs 36,41,246.75, and is expected to increase the number as a release day approach. With blocked seats, the film has already raked for Rs 3.88 crore.
In a unique step, the manufacturers have revealed that the film will be released with two climax- each version will offer a different end. Audiences can choose between Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B, which is the first time in Indian cinema that a film will be released with dual climax.
So far, 14,666 tickets have been sold for one version and about 9,960 for the other.
The film will face a major box office clash with Kamal Haasan’s much awaited Tamil action film Thug Life, directed by Mani Ratnam, which was released a day earlier on 5 June.
Discussion around Housefull 5 is positive, the internal sources of the industry predicted that it can overcome the first day of Akshay Kumar’s previous hits like Gold (2018, Rs 25.25 crore) and Mission Mangal (2019, Rs 29.16 crore).
However, its success will largely depend on how pre-cells perform in the next few days. It also has the ability to become one of Akshay Kumar’s largest foreign openers and it can mark the inauguration day of 30 crores in India. One of the biggest releases of this year, the film will reach 500 screens across the country.
Housefull franchise began in 2010, followed by sequel in 2012, 2016 and 2019.
Earlier, Akshay Kumar was seen in Kesari Veer Chapter 2 and Sky Force.
