New Delhi: The fifth installment of the popular comedy franchise Housefull starring Akshay Kumar has left for a strong start at the box office. According to the initial estimates of the industry tracker Sacnilk, Housefull 5 has collected around Rs 55 crore in the net of India within the first two days of its release.
The film hit theaters on Friday, June 6, and opened on day 1 with an impressive rupee of Rs 24 crore. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, the heritage of Star-Stad Ensambal and franchise has helped to attract a large number of spectators.
A viral post described the film as a “chaotic” and filled with reused jokes, adding, “Akshay Kumar bear the entire film, all others seem to be part of the Caos crew. The haunted palaces, two endings, three heroes, and only one rule:” Use a few laughter to use a few laughter.

Housefull 5 is one of the largest Hindi comedy products to date, directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadidwala. The film has a cast of 19 A-list actors-a record for a Bollywood film-which includes Ritish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Bajwa, Jacqueline Fernandez, Jackie Shroff, Pardin Khan, Chitrangada Singh and Nana Petar.
Mansukhani returns to the direction over a decade since his debut with Dostana (2008), a luxury cruise brings a twist to the franchise with a mystery comedy of a murder on the ship. This plot revolves around several impulses, which claims to be the only successor for the fate of a billionaire, which leads to chaos and confusion.

Housefull 5 is doing better than Akshay’s recent films. While Kesari opened for Rs 7.75 crore and finished the run of Rs 92 crore, and Kail Kel managed to only Rs 5 crore on Mein Opening Day, Housefull 5 is on track to cross both.
As the film enters its third day, the occupancy remains strong, and industry experts predict a solid weekend performance.
