New Delhi: The fifth installment of the popular comedy franchise Housefull started in theaters on 6 June.
Starring Akshay Kumar in the lead, Housefull 5 was honored by fans as “Bollywood’s Best Comedy Film” with positive reactions with social media.

The film, which hit theaters on 6 June and recorded an impressive rupee of Rs 24 crore on its early day, is now ready to entertain the wider audience on OTT.
According to a report by GQ India, Housefull 5 will be specially streamed on the official digital partner of the Amazon Prime Video, the film. While an accurate release date has not been officially declared, reports suggest that the OTT premiere will be between July 18 and 1 August.
Directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadidwala, the comedy-thriller marked the return of Mansukhani on the director’s chair over a decade after a decade.
The film was released in theaters with two alternative endings, Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B, adding buzz and boosting box office collections.
The film also made history with the highest non-halide inauguration for a comedy in India.
Some of Bollywood’s biggest names are in the Ensambal Cast, including Ritish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Bajwa, Jacqueline Fernandez, Jackie Shroff, Ferdin Khan, Chitrangada Singh and Nana Patekar, along with Kumar.
Set on a luxury cruise ship, the plot follows a distant series of events after a billionaire, suddenly on the verge of announcing his successor on his 100th birthday. Anarchy is in the form of three men, Jalabuddin (Deshmukh), Jalabushan (Bachchan), and Julius (Kumar), all claim to be the correct “jolly”, successor for luck, leading to a prostitute, confusion and a cheating prostitute.
