How Taylor Swift reacts to thousands of fans watching Munich concert for free: ‘…whether you’re in the stadium or…’

Getting a seat on Taylor Swift’s record-breaking, sold-out Eras Tour is a marathon that few can complete. However, the world tour that helped the “Anti-Hero” star register as a billionaire this year pulled off an unthinkable event in Munich, Germany this week, where thousands of Swifties won free seats to the pop sensation’s show.

July 28: Fans flock to Olympiaberg in the Olympiapark to watch Taylor Swift’s concert in Munich for free.

A massive crowd of thousands of concert-goers filled the Olympic Hill, or Olympiaberg, which is considered one of the highest peaks in the southern German city. Photos of fans crowding the top of the hill just outside the Olympic Stadium went viral on the internet this weekend, while local police estimated that around 25,000 people gathered at the location this Saturday, according to the Associated Press. Other estimates reportedly put the number as high as 40,000.

Taylor Swift’s last Eras Tour show in Germany was on Sunday

The same scene was seen on Sunday when fans returned to the grassy area and the distant glimpse of the hill felt like an ant hill. These fans sitting on top of the nearby Olympic Stadium basically won a lottery ticket and got a free view of Swift’s sold-out mega-hit world tour stop in Germany.

Despite the scorching heat, people stayed in their places over the weekend, especially since Sunday’s show was Taylor’s last Eras Tour concert in Germany. Moreover, neither the singer nor the concert organizer stopped these fans standing outside the venue from enjoying the free show. Instead, the organizer even gave people water and emergency blankets so that they could protect themselves from the sun.

The “Reputation” album-maker publicly acknowledged their dedication to putting on her shows. During her concert in Germany on Sunday night, Swift estimated, “We’re lucky that we get to play this show for 74,000 beautiful people in this stadium, and if the reports are correct, there will be about 50,000 beautiful people outside the stadium.”

A fan-shot video of the concert on social media furthered her message: “Thank you for coming to the Eras Tour, whether you’re in the stadium or outside the stadium. We’re so lucky to be here with you. And this is a really special night, because it’s our last show in Germany. I can’t tell you how amazing the German crowds have been to us these last few weeks. We’re leaving you, but we’ll be back, we’ll be back to see you,” Swift declared.

Her much-loved tour continues this week when she heads to Warsaw, Poland for three shows. Taylor will then stop in Vienna, Austria and finish the European leg by flying back to London, England for five more shows.
