There is no jam bigger and grander than the HT City & DLF Cyberhub Friday Jam presented by Cantabil! A place where music reaches a new level every year and the spectacular performances will take your breath away.
Last year, you will remember the power-packed performances by singers Jassi Gill and Babbal Rai, Kunal Wasan, Salman and Zaman as well as Lakhwinder Wadali. Now, the spectacular show is back, with Season 9 promising to host spectacular performances by singer Romi (June 14), band Khusro (June 21), singer Mansa Jimmy (June 28) and rapper-singer MC Square (July 5).
All set to take the stage tonight, popular singer Romi says, “I and my entire band are very excited [to perform]. I am from Patiala, my villages have that vibe. My tracks (on music platforms) also come mostly from there,” the singer, who is also a member of Sanu Kehndi (saffron2019), Lal Peeli Akhiyan (I was so entangled in your words), Ghaghra (Crew) and Baza (shiny), will hold his first public event in Delhi-NCR.
Romi also agrees that the Millennium City has a different atmosphere of its own. He said, “Some songs are not even popular in Delhi-NCR, but they are also listened to well.” He further said, “We are trying a lot of new things. My set has 30% qawwali… We have incorporated some old things of Nusrat sahab. We are also creating two to three fusions. There are some surprises for the audience as well.”
That’s not all! The upcoming Fridays also promise to be fun with romantic shero-shayari, more music and rap. The 10-member band Khusro will bring heart-touching songs to enthrall Delhiites with their #Sufi tadka. Singer Shreyash Tiwari says, “When we performed in Season 3, we received a lot of love, which is why we are back in Season 9. For Delhi, Sufi is not just music; it’s an emotion.” He further adds, “You will get to hear a lot of self-penned lyrics and shero-shayari in songs like Mast Kalandar, Biba and Halka Halka Suroor.”
Bringing her powerful voice to the stage will be singer-songwriter Maanasa Jimmy, who will perform “Thoda Thoda Sab Kuchh”. “There will be some Sufi and other things that I usually do… I feel comfortable playing for the Delhi crowd because I started my journey as an artiste here a decade ago. The Delhi crowd has seen me grow and has been very kind. So I am very excited for this show!” she adds.
