Husband vs Wife: Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Wolverine to clash with Blake Lively’s It Ends With Us at the box office

Ryan Reynolds-Blake Lively are all set to go head to head at the US box office this weekend with their films Deadpool & Wolverine and It Ends With Us respectively.

It Ends With Us’ Blake Lively joined Deadpool and Wolverine stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman at the film’s world premiere in New York City on Tuesday night. Of course, Blake Lively was on hand to support her husband and their co-star Hugh at the red carpet premiere of Deadpool and Wolverine (in which she also made a cameo) in July. Now, according to Deadline ReportDeadpool and Wolverine are set to make a splash again with a $50 million weekend in the US, while It Ends With Us will earn $23-30 million. Deadpool and Wolverine stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman (left); Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni will appear in the highly anticipated big screen adaptation of author Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel It Ends With Us, which was released in 2016.

It Ends With Us Box Office Opening Prediction

The film, based on author Colleen Hoover’s novel It Ends with Us, will be released on August 9 by Wayfarer Studios and Sony. It stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, with the latter directing it. Blake is also a producer on It Ends with Us. According to Deadline, pre-sales for It Ends with Us are skyrocketing, with initial estimates of $23 million for a $25 million production according to NRG. Furthermore, pre-sales suggest It Ends with Us opening to $30 million, thanks to the author’s fans.

Meanwhile, Deadpool & Wolverine, released on July 26, is expected to gross $50 million in its third weekend. The MCU film, directed, produced and co-written by Shawn Levy, becomes the second film to cross $400 million in the US and Canada this year after Inside Out 2. The fastest to reach $400 million remains Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame, which achieved the milestone in five days in 2019.

About Us It Ends With Us

The film deals with the theme of domestic violence, and centers on Lily Bloom (Blake Lively), who overcomes a traumatic childhood to start a new life and fulfill a lifelong dream of opening her own business. A chance meeting with a neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid (Justin Baldoni) leads to an intense romance, before Lily begins to see aspects of Ryle that remind her of her parents’ relationship.
