June is the month of ARMYs as Jin is just a few days away from being discharged from his military services and BTS’ anniversary is on June 13. For the group’s 11th anniversary celebration, HYBE announced the event for BTS Festa 2024. The event also includes Jin’s appearance, and ARMY is excited to see the singer after his military service. However, the music label company faced criticism for announcing the merchandise as they were as basic as they come.

BTS label HYBE receives criticism over low-effort designs of merchandise for BTS “FESTA 2024”

HYBE faces backlash for not putting any effort into new BTS merchandise

In a big announcement on Weverse, HYBE introduced the Festa schedule and its merchandise to fans. The merchandise included several items, such as oversized T-shirts, zip-up hoodies, phone cases, and bucket hats. The music label company also introduced the option to customize products by adding labels of solo members or specific designs. However, HYBE has been receiving backlash due to simple designs without any creativity. BTS fans are disappointed with the company as they charge more for low-quality merchandise designs.

Netizens react to BTS merchandise for BTS Festa 2024

Amid the ongoing boycott of HYBE due to its association with Zionism and the quality of the merchandise reported by Koreaboo, many fans thought it was easier not to purchase items from the label. One x user wrote, “Whoever is in charge of creative direction for BTS, whether it’s merch or posters or group album concepts, should be fired by 2025 and replaced with someone else, and I’m very serious”.

Another wrote, “$90 for that ugly hoodie? Even if there’s no boycott going on no one should have to pay that much for something so basic,” to which another user responded, “I’ve said this since 2019, BigHit thinks we’re stupid idiots who will buy anything. A lot of BTS merch was hot ass for years.”

One x user wrote, “2024 has to be the year with the most boycott-worthy merch because look at this stuff” to which another user responded “It’s giving you random stuff you don’t buy when you search BTS merch on google?!?!?” Another user wrote, “They will literally hire anyone to design BTS merch. There’s literally no effort or thought behind any of the designs.”
