Actress Vidya Balan is getting indifferent as her first film ‘Parineeta’ is set to re -release in theaters in the 8K restored print.
Taking a leaf from the past, the actress said that she always cracked when the film’s director Pradeep Sarkar actually acted the scenes for her character.
The film is restored by Prasad film Labs, which brings back its rich visual and developed story for a new generation. A new trailer of the film has also been unveiled, celebrating the film’s timeless appeal, beauty, intimate music and the indifferent elegance of an era.
Talking about the new trailer, Vidya Balan said, “I remember listening to ‘Piu Bole’ for the first time, even then, I knew that it was something special. It was a tenderness, a kind of innocence that I think I was expecting at that time, new, uncertain and quiet. How do you want to walk to me ‘(laughing).

“I think, I didn’t know about the camera, I was just living those moments. I could not really say for a more beautiful beginning. That kind of purity, 1 oops magic, ‘Parineeta’ is full of that because it marks 1 for many of us, and it’s something that I always stop”, he said.
Talking about the film, Sanjay Dutt said, “Girish was my first Bengali character, and I was very happy to play it. I love Bengali culture. Girish was a cool man, but a lot is going down, and I was really connected with him. He was ready to remember me. I love her. I love her.
“He is a family. Some scenes may now look simple, but they were not easy at all. Given the trailer, today brought everything back after twenty years. Parineeta was never another film for me. It was made with a lot of heart and very love, and that is why even in two decades, there is a special place in everyone’s heart.
On August 29, 2025, the restored version of ‘Parineta’ will be re -released in selected PVR Inox cinemas across India.
