Anand Patwardhan The whole world is a family(The world is one family)A deeply personal history of the filmmaker’s family intertwined with the country’s history has been selected for the best long documentary at the 16th International Documentary and Short Film Festival (IDSFFK) organised by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy. The award includes a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh, which the filmmaker donated to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund (CMDRF) for the victims of the Wayanad landslide. Mr Patwardhan also won the Kumar Talkies Award for Best Editing.

Fabien Martin Hitham (The Choice) won the Best Campus Film award while Pramod Satchidanandan’s Mutton Cutter Won the Special Jury Award. The winners in various competition categories were presented the awards on Wednesday without any official ceremony, which was cancelled after the government declared two days of state mourning in honour of those killed in the landslide. Jury chairperson for fiction Urmi Juvekar and jury chairperson for non-fiction Rakesh Sharma presented the awards.
