With less than 10 days left for the release of Deadpool and Wolverine, the excitement is finally building. Despite a worldwide press tour, lead stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have not been able to create the kind of hype around the film that one would expect from a Deadpool and Wolverine duo. But it looks like some girl power might be at work after all.
New teaser surfaced
The film is trending on social media this morning after Disney released a new promo that gives a glimpse of ‘Lady Deadpool’. The new promo shows several different scenes of Deadpool landing during the action set pieces. There’s a cowboy Deadpool, a dog Deadpool, and most notably, a blonde woman as Lady Deadpool.

who could it be?
As soon as the teaser was released, fans started speculating on who could play the role. Most speculated (and hoped) that Ryan Reynolds’ real-life wife and actor Blake Lively has been cast in the film. One wrote, “If it’s not Blake, I don’t want it.” Another fan added, “It’s confirmed that Blake Lively will play Lady Deadpool in #DeadpoolAndWolverine.”
Some even expressed hope that it was Ryan’s friend, superstar “Taylor Swift! I have no clue, just predicting.”
Someone else offered a brutal reality check. “It won’t be Ladypool, it will be Deadpool himself in a woman’s costume, no Ladypool, they’ll just be like that at the end.” Some are even hoping for it, “If it’s not Blake Lively, I want it to be Ryan Reynolds in a wig.” A true Deadpool fan indeed.
About Deadpool and Wolverine
The film hits theaters on July 26, with Reynolds making a significant return as Deadpool, a role he feared he wouldn’t be able to continue following the Disney-Fox merger.
Joining Reynolds in the cast is Hugh Jackman, who is reprising his iconic role as Wolverine from the X-Men franchise. Additional cast members include Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova and Matthew Macfadyen as Paradox, joining the star-studded lineup of Deadpool and Wolverine.
Recently, Jackman and Reynolds reflected on their 17-year-long friendship, saying that the “kept secret” of their relationship is that they’re “truly there” for each other “all the time.”
“I want you to win. I think the same about Blake,” Reynolds said, referring to his wife Blake Lively. “When I’m excited for her, I know she’s excited for me, and that’s why we’re so connected.” Deadpool and Wolverine will be released in theaters on July 26, People reported.
