In Marsile, a shadow becomes a banquet’s latest street in the art.

The lighthouse appeared throughout the night. A cool Marselle Street painted on a wall, its beam fully aligned with the real -life shadow of a metal post on the pavement. At its center, Crisp White has Stonesil, words: “I want what you have seen in me.”

Bankee was hit again.

On Friday (May 30, 2025), the elusive British street artist confirmed the work by posting two images on his official Instagram account – without caption or coordinates. The fans quickly identified the location as a 1 -Rue Felix Fragier, which is near the sea, in the Catalan district of the 7th Erundesment of Marselle.

Since then, crowds have gathered on the site. Tourists take pictures. Children indicate. Local people who usually walk behind the building take a close look.

There is no official interpretation for the phrase. But its emotional bridge is infallible – a cool argument for recognition, love or redemption. Some people guess that a country’s Gathagit is a reference to Lonstar. Other people call it a love letter. Or a mourn. Or both.

The image is misleadically simple: a lonely lighthouse, darkness and weather, a white white beam casting. But what gives this power is that it plays with light – real and painted, seen and imagined. The post becomes part of the post piece in front of the wall. The reality becomes a frame.

The mayor of Marsile, Benoite pionened, were early to react online. “Marsile X Banky,” he wrote, adding a flame emoji. By noon, the hashtag #BanksyMarSeille was trending throughout France, and beyond.

Although often political, banquet’s art is often individual, discovering subjects of loss, craving and identity. In recent years, their works have appeared on war-torn buildings in Ukraine, in support of migrants crossing the Mediterranean Sea and on walls condemning capitalism, braxit and police cruelty.

Artists, who have never confirmed their full identity, started their career spray-painting buildings in Bristol, England and have become one of the world’s most famous artists. Their mischievous and often satirical images include two male police officers kissing, armed riot police with yellow smiley faces and a chimpanzee, with a hint, “Laugh now, but one day I will be in charge.”

Their work has been sold in millions of dollars in the auction, and the previous mural paintings on outdoor sites have been stolen or removed by the building owners soon after going up. In December 2023, military drones were stained on a stop sign in South London after a banquet, a person was photographed to take the sign down with a bolt cutter. The police later arrested two people on suspicion of theft and criminal damage.

In March 2024, a wall next to a tree in North London, an environmentally theme work was printed with paint, covered with plastic sheets and closed within the days of the construction.

Despite fame – or slander – at least in Marsile, all the people walking in the past did not see it. Some did not even know who was a banquet, according to the local press.

On Instagram, observers say that this piece of marselle sounds cool. More interior.

And yet, it is no less global. The work is fine with a major banquet retrospective opening on 14 June 2025, which is characterized by 80 functions in the museum of the museum in a nearby Tolon, including rare origin. Another exhibition opens in Montpelier on Saturday (May 31, 2025).

But the Marsile mural was not for a museum. It lives on the road, is exposed to weather, footsteps and time. Until Friday evening (30 May, 2025), no obstacles were created. No glass shield is installed. Just a shadow, a beam and a message that is already orbiting the world.
