Income tax department issued notice to L2

Kochi: The Income Tax Department has issued a notice to Antony Permbavur, the producer of Ampuran, which has already demanded clarification on the alleged financial transactions related to Bancold films Lusifer and Markar: Lion of the Arabian Sea, said sources said.

According to sources in the Income Tax Department, the notice is followed by the earlier raid in 2022. Officials have clarified that the current notice or proceedings are not related to the recently issued and “controversial” film, Moopuran.

In 2022, the Income Tax Department raided the offices and residences of several filmmakers in Kerala. Sources said five production companies, including Ashirwad Cinemas, were raided, who were reportedly owned by Antony Permbavur.

According to sources, the alleged financial transactions of these companies were investigated from 2019 to 2022 during preliminary proceedings. The latest notice to Permbavur is part of the follow -up investigation of the department, he said.
Meanwhile, L2: Empuran recently performed voluntary editing by his manufacturers after facing backlash from right -wing supporters on their political and social subjects.

Actor-prose and actor Suresh Gopi on Thursday dismissed the report of sensor pressure on the manufacturers of Ampuran to remove 17 scenes from the film amid controversy in the Rajya Sabha.

Gopi’s name, which appeared in the credits of the film under the “Special Thanks” category, has been removed in the re -edited edition.

Suresh Gopi said that there was no pressure on the manufacturers of L2 Empuraan manufacturers and the director, producer and actor’s decision to remove 17 parts from the film amid the ongoing controversies.

Gopi said, “There was no sensor pressure on the producers of Ampuran,” I was the first person to call the manufacturers and was asking them to remove my name from credit … the film’s debut. This is the truth. If this is wrong then I am ready to take any punishment. ,

He said, “This was the decision of the producer and the lead actor of the film, with the permission of the film’s director, to remove 17 parts from the film. It was his decision. Therefore, what is this circus going on …. defaming the party (BJP).”

L2: Imapuran starring Mohanlal in the lead role was directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and released in theaters on 27 March.
