Independence Day 2025: Annu Kapoor calls for collective responsibility among citizens, the President remembers this song from the film

Mumbai: Bollywood veteran Annu Kapoor called for a “collective responsibility” among citizens on Independence Day 2025.

The actor recalled retro song ‘Ek Bangla Bain Nyara’ from the film ‘President’, which was released in 1937. With the help of the song, Annu Kapoor shared his idea of “unity in diversity”, Annu Kapoor to be responsible for society, community and families.

Talking to ANI, the actor said, “On this Independence Day, I am reminded of a song ‘Ek Bangla Bain Nyara’, it is a bungalow, it is a house, it is a house. And in India, in India, 140 million people have bodies and souls. I know, we always want to make a effort. We want to make a effort.”

On the occasion of 79th Independence Day, many Bollywood celebrities also greeted the day. Music director Anu Malik expressed his solidarity for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “beautiful and better India”.

Talking to ANI, Anu Malik wished his fans for ‘happy Independence Day’ and described the national flag of India as a symbol of ‘pride’, ‘unity’, and ‘sacrifice’.

He said, “One very, very happy Independence Day. I believe the tricolor is not just a flag. It is a symbol of pride. It is a symbol of sacrifice. And it is a symbol of unity. As our great Lokmanya Tilak Saheb has said, Swaraj has my birthright and I will have it.”

The ‘Josh’ music director urged the citizens to renew his “commitment” to a better India, echoing his solidarity with PM Modi’s campaign ‘Har Ghar Tricolor’.

“On this beautiful, auspicious day, on this Independence Day, we renew our commitment to a more beautiful and better India. Our respectable Prime Minister Modi ji has always said, the tricolor, every house tricolor. I salute my beloved country, India,” Anu. Malik said.

The singer-music director also expressed his love for the country and music, called himself “proud Indian”.

“I have done this through many of my songs. When you love something, when you love someone, and the way I love my country, as a musician, I live through my music. I am a very proud Indian,” said Anu Malik.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted oblique at the Red Fort on Thursday. This year’s celebrations took the theme ‘Naya Bharat’ the theme by 2047, showing the government’s vision of attaining ‘Vikit Bharat’.
