Mumbai: Maharashtra Cyber Cell has denied the petition of YouTuber Samay Raina to allow them to record their statement in ‘India’s Got latent’ controversy through videoconferencing. Samay said in his petition that he is currently in the US and will not be able to return to India before March 17 due to prior commitments.
Maharashtra Cyber Cell said Raina has been asked to personally record his statement on 18 February. Raina-hosted show ‘India’s Got Latant’ got involved in controversy over the comments made by Podcaster Ranveer Allabia.
During the show, he asked a contestant, “Will you see your parents … or join at one time and stop it forever?”
After a large -scale backlash, a formal complaint was filed against Ranveer Allahabadia, social media affected Apoorva Makhija, comedian Samay Raina and the organizers of ‘India’s Got Latant’.
Samay later said in his Instagram stories to share a statement, stating that he had removed all the videos of the show from his channel and was “fully cooperated” with the officials. He also said that his only intention was to entertain people.
“Whatever is happening is getting too much for me. I have removed all the latent videos of India from my channel. My sole purpose was to make people laugh and a good time. I completely all agencies I will cooperate together so that their inquiry has been done fairly.
On Friday, YouTuber and Podcaster approached the Supreme Court, demanding a club to clubs across India on a show ‘India’s Got latent’ during their guest appearance.
Senior Advocate Abhinav Chandrachud, attended for Allahbadia, mentioning the matter requested an immediate hearing in the case before a bench headed by Chief Justice of India Sanjeev Khanna.
Advocate Chandrachud told the bench that several FIRs were registered against him, and the Assam Police called him on Friday. CJI Khanna said that he does not allow oral mention and clarified that a list of the date of the case has been handed over.
On 11 February, Assam Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the Guwahati police have registered an FIR against YouTubers and social efficiency against Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, Jasprreet Singh, Apeorva Makhija, and others. The clear and vulgar discussion about India became latent.
FIRs have been registered against him in Maharashtra and Assam.
