YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia arrived at the Office of the Crime Branch, Guwahati Police Commission on Friday.
His visit comes as part of the ongoing investigation on the controversial ‘India’s Got Latant’ show, which has provoked legal and public backlash due to its clear material.
The dispute began when an FIR was filed by the Guwahati police on 10 February, accusing several prominent influencers and YouTubers, including Ashish Chanchala, Jaspreet Singh, Apoorva Mabija, Ranveer Allahabadia, and Samay Raina, which promoted pornography through their participation in the show.
The FIR reference fee under various classes including the Indian Penal Code, Information Technology Act, and Cinematographs Act, especially highlights improper and rude discussions during the episode in question.
Earlier, on 27 February, Ashish Chanchalani along with his advocate appeared before the Guwahati Crime Branch, where police officials recorded their statement as part of the investigation.
The police had registered a case under the cyber PS case no. 03/2025, including allegations of promoting indecent representation of women and engaging in obscene conduct.
On 6 March, the legal proceedings around the show ‘India’s Got Latent’ increased with the affected people appearing before the National Commission for Women (NCW) in Delhi.
The attendees included YouTubers Ashish Chanchalani and Ranveer Allahabadia, affected Apoorva Makhija, and producers of the show, Saurabh Bothra and Tushar Pujari.
The group made statements to the NCW chairperson and the legal team regarding the controversial comments made during the show.
The controversy began when a viral incident from the show raised a strong criticism from the public and the neti, making a call for strict regulation of the online material.
The show showed unfair comments from his guests, which led to widespread resentment. In response, Ranveer Allahabadia and Apoorva Makhija recorded their statements before NCW to address the issue.
In the midst of the ongoing legal battle, YouTuber Ashish Chanchalani resorted to social media to express his gratitude to his fans.
In a hearty video shared on Instagram, he accepted messages that he received and reflected at the difficult time being faced by him.
“Hello Duston, Cass Ho Ek Log? I know, Main AAPK messages are lost hain, trick.
When he resumes the posting material, he asked his followers for the continuous support. “Main aap sabse bas yahi request Karta Hoon Ki Meri Family Aur Mujhe Apni APNI Prayer Mein Rakhna.
Meanwhile, Ranveer Allahabadia, who was also involved in the dispute, addressed the issue on social media.
Allahabadia made a highly inappropriate comment during an episode of ‘India’s Got Latant’, which attracted a lot of backlash.
In response to criticism, Allahabadia released a public apology on its X (East Twitter) account.
Allahabadia said in her video, “My comment was not just unfair, it was not even fun. Comedy is not my fort. I am just here to say sorry.”
He emphasized his commitment to use his platform more responsibly, especially on the young audience.
