Singer and Indian Idol 12 winner Pandip Rajan was seriously injured in a car accident on National Highway 9 in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh.
The incident took place near the CO office of Gajrula police station at around 3 pm. Pavandip, along with two other people, were traveling from Delhi from Uttarakhand, Uttarakhand for an event in case of accident.
According to the police, MG Hector in which Pavandip was traveling, was colliding with a parked Eichcher canter from behind. In -charge Akhilesh Pradhan at the Gajrula police station said that the vehicle “hit a parked Eicher Cantor from behind”.
On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and took the injured to a private hospital for first aid. Given the seriousness of the injuries, he was later transferred to a hospital in Noida.
Pavdeep was traveling with his friend Ajay Mehra and driver Rahul Singh. The three faced serious injuries. Initial investigation suggests that an accident may occur due to the driver falling asleep on the wheel. A senior police officer confirmed, “The primary investigation indicates that the accident was caused by Rahul Singh, who allegedly fell away from dozens on the wheel, losing car control.”
Pavandip suffered fractures in both legs and head injuries. He was later rushed to Fortis Hospital in Noida, where he is currently under the care of the Orthopedics Team.
Deputy Police Superintendent Shwetabh Bhaskar said, “Both damaged vehicles have been confiscated, and further action will be taken on receiving a written complaint.”
Gajraula police station house officer Akhilesh Pradhan said, “Investigation is going on, pointing the fatigue of the driver with initial findings as the primary cause of the accident. Pavdeep, Ajay Mehra, and Rahul Singh’s position is subject to close medical supervision in Noida, where doctors are working to stabilize them.”
In a statement, Fortis Hospital said: “Pavdeep Rajan has been admitted to Fortis Hospital, Noida under the care of the orthopedics team after a road traffic accident, resulting in several limbs fractures. He is currently stable and conscious. As part of his treatment plan, he will have to undergo a series of applications.
Pavdeep Rajan, a native of Champawat in Uttarakhand, comes from a family of Kumoni folk artists. His father Suresh Rajan, mother Saroj Rajan, and sister Jyotipde Rajan are all associated with music. After winning the Indian Idol 12, he woke up for fame after defeating five other finalists and taking a trophy, a car and a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh.
