IndiGo flight crisis: Many celebrities including Lauren Gottlieb, Jay Bhanushali, Rahul Vaidya face huge delays

Mumbai: There was chaos in the Indian skies after IndiGo airline canceled several flights, leaving thousands of passengers stranded at major airports across the country.

Amid the growing outrage, celebrities were also seen seeing their travel plans derailed, with many taking to social media to express frustration over indefinite waits and delays at terminals.

Actor-choreographer Lauren Gottlieb, who was seen outside an airport, spoke to the media and shared her reaction to the flight situation.

He urged people to avoid taking IndiGo flights for now, saying, “Whatever you have seen online and in the news – it looks like an apocalypse from the inside. All flights to Dubai were cancelled. There were hundreds of people there and it looked like some kind of disaster had happened.”

Actor Jay Bhanushali was also among those who had to bear the brunt of the flight delay, sharing his ordeal on his Instagram stories.

After waiting for hours before catching his flight to Mumbai, Jai took a subtle dig at the airline and wrote, “After so many hours of travel, I deserve to be welcomed with this song ‘Desh Mere’. Thank you IndiGo for the unplanned extended travel.”

Singer Rahul Vaidya was also impressed, as he detailed his experience with a series of posts on Instagram.

Along with a selfie, Rahul wrote, “One of the worst days to fly! And we have a show in Kolkata tonight… and still don’t know how we’ll get there!” In another post, the singer revealed that he spent Rs 4.20 lakh for boarding passes in his domestic flights.

He wrote, “These boarding cards are worth Rs 4.20 lakh and this is only till Bombay… and now Kolkata will be different from Mumbai. This is the most expensive domestic travel I have ever done.”

Aly Goni took a dig at Indigo and told how the flight tickets were increased after the cancellation of Indigo.

“Now the time has come that there should be another domestic airline in India… @IndiGo6E made the entire country in a bad condition.. and the icing on the cake is that the other airlines tripled the prices. What a thief aviation is here, my friend…unreal.”

In view of the situation, the Civil Aviation Ministry has directed airlines, especially IndiGo, to immediately implement measures to resolve the serious disruption in flight schedules and stabilize services without any delay, an official statement said.
