She later announced in a social media post that she has admitted herself into a rehabilitation facility to get the necessary help. The country music singer’s performance of the national anthem went viral on social media and netizens criticized her for her pitch during the performance.

Singer Ingrid Andress admitted herself into rehab
The 32-year-old singer-songwriter sang the national anthem at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas on Monday. Videos of her performance went viral on social media platforms and she faced severe criticism for her performance, with some calling it the “worst national anthem ever”. The singer admitted the next day that she was “intoxicated” during her performance last night and admitted herself to a rehab facility.
Andress shared a post on X that read, “I’m not going to fool you all, I was drunk last night. I’m checking myself into a facility today so I can get the help I need. This was not who I was last night. I apologize to MLB, all the fans, and this country I love so much for that presentation. I’ll let you all know what rehab is like, I hear it’s a lot of fun.”

Andress is a four-time Grammy nominee and is best known for her song More Hearts Than Mine, which spent 20 consecutive weeks at No. 30 on the Billboard Hot 100, Fox News reports. Her next best was Wishful Drinking, a collaboration with country singer Sam Hunt in 2021, which also debuted on the Billboard charts.

Andres faced massive criticism for singing the national anthem
The video of Andress’ version of the national anthem did not go down well with netizens and the singer received a lot of criticism online. Many netizens were quick to notice the singer’s missed notes and wrong pitch during her performance. A user on X wrote, “The worst version of the national anthem I’ve heard at the Home Run Derby tonight. Borderline disrespectful to the flag.”
Another user wrote, “#HomeRunDerby what kind of national anthem was that and she’s a 4-time Grammy nominated country singer?” A third user agreed, adding, “Oh, too bad. I wouldn’t recommend anyone’s ears listen to that. Not even Trump’s poor ears.”
One user wrote, “This made me cry tears of pain,” while another wrote, “Wow. All I can say is wow…Ingrid Andress united baseball fans with that rendition of the national anthem. Mets and Braves fans agree. Yankees and Red Sox fans agree too. That was embarrassing…”
