Over the years, picturesque small towns, with their wholesome characters, have proven to be the perfect setting for K-drama romance. Thinking hometown cha cha chaWhere a clever city dentist heads to the beautiful coastal town of Gongjin, and becomes charmed by its resident servant. or even inside summer strikeWhere an office worker quits her job and decides to live in a sleepy town for a year, completely taken over by its beloved library (and later, its sweet and shy librarian).
in upcoming k-drama spring FeverYoon Bom, a teacher from Seoul, goes to teach at a high school in Sinsu city. Reserved, quiet and eager for a fresh start, it is here that she meets Seon Jae-kyu, a tall, tattooed, tough-looking guy who is impressionable, warm, and a curious extrovert. The setting is ready for sparks to fly.

For actors Ahn Bo-hyun and Lee Jo-bin, who play the lead roles, spring Fever This meant traveling out of Seoul to Pohang, where a large portion of the show was filmed, and enjoying everything that was beautiful, wholesome, and fun.
Bo-hyun says, “Since I grew up in Busan, the ocean has always been a familiar part of my life. In Seoul, where I live now, it’s not easy to see the ocean, so filming in Pohang, where there was the ocean every day, made me really happy.” Joo-bin, meanwhile, calls the whole experience a ‘happy little trip’: “We also shot in a sheep farm, and at first, I was completely shocked because every time I said my line, all the sheep started bleating,” she recalls.

Based on Baek Min-ae’s web novel of the same name, the show has sparked interest with its first-look poster, particularly as Bo-hyun’s appearance as Jae-kyu closely resembles the character’s original portrayal. He says, “I always feel a certain pressure when it comes to meeting the expectations of fans of the original work. That’s why I try to pay even more attention to detail expressing the character, including the external aspects.”

While Jae-kyu and Yoon Bom’s romance will take center stage, the show’s teasers also indicate that Jae-kyu and his relationship with his nephew (played by actor Cho Joon-young), whom he is raising, will also be an important part of the show.

Bo-hyun says his character is one he hopes audiences will fall in love with. He laughs, “Jae-kyu is a character who is strong on the outside but soft at heart. With his fierce honesty and straightforward charm, I’m sure he will win people’s hearts.” He also said that his character’s chemistry with Yoon Bom, as well as the fun he has with the townspeople, is worth watching.
Bo-hyun has had an interesting mix of roles so far, with action being her forte. This also includes My name, military prosecutor doberman And, more recently, flex x cop, spring Fever Marks a return to a softer, less intense style for the actor.
“I still have a lot of genres that I haven’t had a chance to try, and moving forward, I would love to do noir projects and even challenge myself with villainous roles,” he says.
