‘Ishq Vishk Rebound’ movie review: Rohit Saraf, Pashmina Roshan struggle in cosmetic romantic comedy

A scene from ‘Ishq Vishk Rebound’

Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao set young hearts racing with their innocence and Alisha Chinai gave voice to their chemistry with “Chhod Dil Pe Lagi, Pyar Hone Laga”, two decades later, Tips has made a spiritual sequel to it Ishq Vishk. unfortunately Injury This time the film is only heavy on the pocket as it highlights the pathetic state of youth romance in Bollywood. The only encouraging thing is that Native The Halloween sequence is meant to inject energy into a phony three-plus-one love story that refuses to move forward.

When a film producer (Kusha Kapila) shows faith in a young screenwriter Raghav (Rohit Saraf), he takes inspiration from his love story to write his first script. He is attracted to Riya (Naila Grewal), while his friend Sahir (Jibran Khan) is dating Sanya (Pashmina Roshan). However, their relationship weakens as Raghav and Sanya start getting attracted to each other.

Ishq Vishq Rebound

Director: Nipun Dharmadhikari

Cast: Rohit Saraf, Pashmina Roshan, Jibran Khan, Naila Grewal

Story: Four friends get entangled in a web of relationships with each other

The original film, directed by Ken Ghosh, feels like the story behind a music video, but its sequel is more like one long episode. Splitsvilla where confused and adventurous youth indulge Vishk And vyar in search of love And LoveThere’s plenty of pageantry and showmanship, but hardly any heartfelt conversations; the turns seem formal and the romantic energy is superficial.

Director Nipun Dharamdikhar has used the usual justifications to explain the behaviour of the main characters. Sanya is insecure because she is the product of a broken marriage, Sahir is indecisive because of a regimental father, and Raghav is big-hearted because his parents are understanding. But none of the layers are clearly visible on screen and remain on paper. It is a story of four characters but in the film the makers keep reminding us that Sanya is the centre of the story; actress Pashmina is Hrithik Roshan’s cousin.

Rohit has the charm to make a TV commercial or a music video work, while newcomer Pashmina faces the camera without hesitation, but lacks the charisma to hold our attention. Strangely, the director seems more keen on capturing their physical attributes than their emotional output. Naila, who was impressive The matter is legal, Here too she exudes confidence, but is tasked with fleshing out an incomplete character. At the end of the film, the director had to ask Sheeba Chaddha to explain her intentions in a cameo before the audience walked out!
