“Get your friends, put on your floral clothes, come see it!” – nothing more, nothing less, is how Blake Lively is marketing her latest release, it ends with usHe has interacted extensively with the media.

Blake has made headlines several times in the last few weeks, and it’s all because of her floral outfits. In the Justin Baldoni-directed film, she plays a florist named Lily Bloom and adorns herself with flowers every time she steps out, a sartorial strategy that has kept the buzz about the film strong. it ends with us However, this film has left the audience and fans of the actor shocked as it now seems like this is a deliberate attempt to tell them what the film is really about.

It Ends With Us is not a movie about flowers and girl power

It’s about domestic violence. And the most horrifying part is that no effort was made to make today’s audience aware of the situation they were getting into. The film is an official adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s 2016 novel of the same name, so those familiar with reading it already know what they’re getting into. In defense of the film’s team and director Justin, who coincidentally also stars alongside Blake, the trailer wasn’t at all pretty and plush and definitely hinted at DV as a theme.

The biggest problem here is that D.V. isn’t just a subplot, it’s the entire premise. The even bigger problem? Blake’s continued refusal to acknowledge it.

The internet is very unhappy with Blake

Blake established her on-screen legacy with her long-running portrayal of Serena van der Woodsen in the cult series gossip Girl (2007-2012) made her smooth transition into films around the same time. Over the years, Blake has become a fan favourite due to her candid personality, warm demeanour and her wonderful relationship with husband and fellow actor Ryan Reynolds. However, her nearly flawless public image is now seriously under threat.

Blake’s interviews have covered all aspects related and unrelated to the film, from zodiac signs to wearing her own clothes in certain scenes, living like a girl and dressing up her co-star for red carpet events. While all of this could be attributed to a lack of emotional intelligence, Blake is now being accused of deliberately dodging questions about the DV themes in the film. Exhibit A – When explicitly asked what she would say to fans who wanted to contact her regarding the “sensitive topics” in the film, Blake made a false joke that they should just share their address and location, immediately jumping into a filler about her being a Virgo.

What has angered fans is the constant plugs for her newly launched hair care brand, which is often discussed in isolation, while the issue itself, which Blake does not talk about for some unknown reason, is not mentioned.

The internet never disappoints when it comes to meme-coding controversies and Blake, for better or for worse, has an entire trend dedicated to him these days. Many creators are sharing reels impersonating Blake, with witty one-liners that straight-up tear-jerker or emotionally sensitive descriptions of movies with the most absurd, confusing version of their plot.

Exaggerated caricatures of Blake by the maker community are also flooding social media platforms.

What does Ryan Reynolds have to do with all this?

Wherever Blake is, you can bet Ryan Reynolds is just around the corner and vice versa. Now while this has been the couple’s USP over the years, this time it appears to be their biggest let down considering the controversy. At the film’s New York premiere earlier this month, Blake was coy after revealing that Ryan played a big role in shaping the film, as well as allegedly “wrote” the key rooftop scene. While Blake was hoping for an ‘aha’ moment for her husband and herself, it actually backfired.

The film’s original screenwriter, Christy Hall, had no idea that Ryan had contributed to the script. Any portions she didn’t recognize as her own in the final cut she brushed off as possible on-the-scene improvisations. “So I recognize the scene and I’m proud of the scene. And if those great lines came from Ryan, then I think that’s wonderful,” Christy said in a byte to The Hollywood Reporter, while insisting that the main writing was still entirely hers.

The biggest issue here, however, is that Ryan has potentially ‘crossed the picket line.’ Two Hollywood strikes, one of which was a half-time writers strike, ran from May to September 2023. it ends with us Filming began around this time. According to the rules, filming during such a situation can only be resumed when the script is locked. If Ryan indeed went back to rewrite the rooftop scene, it essentially means that he went against WAG and the ideas they stood for at the time.

Something is wrong with the Blake vs. Justin drama

There’s a huge difference in the way Blake and Justin promote their movie. While Blake talks about having a girls night out with her best friend, Justin’s interviews and answers are more grounded, balanced, and crafted in a genuine advocacy and ally spirit.

It is being said that the tension between Justin and Blake was evident during the initial phase of promotions. Reports also mention how Blake allegedly told Justin that Justin fat-shamed him and made him feel uncomfortable when he stayed longer than necessary for an intimate scene on-screen. Not only this, Justin also seems to be aloof from the rest of the film’s cast as he walked the red carpet for the New York premiere with only his wife.

The internet is divided over Justin. Amid this drama, which has apparently overtaken the actual film, the actor-director has now hired experienced PR crisis manager Melissa Nathan, whose list of clients includes names such as Johnny Depp.

Blake has yet to acknowledge or mention the incident.
