Terminator is a 1984 film directed by James Cameron. He co-wrote the film with Gale Anne Hurd. Arnold Schwarzenegger plays the role of Terminator in this film.

The director said of his film, “I don’t think of it as a sacred work. When I look at it now there are parts of it that are very embarrassing and there are parts that are like, ‘Yeah, we did a pretty good job for the resources that were available to us.'”

He said, “I don’t feel embarrassed about any of the dialogues, but my level of embarrassment about my dialogues is, obviously, less than a lot of people’s. You know? Show me three of your four highest-grossing films, then we’ll talk about the effectiveness of the dialogues.”

On the criticism he has been receiving for his work, he said that even though many people may find his scripts strange at times, his films have done well at the box office and broken records.

He is best known for films such as Aliens, The Abyss, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, True Lies, Avatar and its sequels. He has also directed, written, co-produced and co-edited Titanic.

Cameron addressed complaints about Avatar: The Way of Water’s three-hour runtime. He said, “I don’t want anyone to complain about the length after sitting and watching eight hours of it in a row,” adding, “I could almost write that part of the review. ‘Three hours too long movie…’ It’s like, give me a break. I’ve seen my kids sit and watch five one-hour episodes in a row.”

He also talked about the trolling of his debut film Avatar, though it was a hit, “The trolls are like nobody cares, and they can’t remember the names of the characters or a single thing that happened in the movie,” he said.

Cameron’s third Avatar film, titled Avatar: Fire and Ashes, is set to release in theaters on December 19, 2025, reports Variety.
