The Daily Planet is where Superman’s alternate form, Clark Kent, has existed since the superhero’s entry into the DC universe.
This building is the workplace of Clark as well as his friends Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen and Perry White. Set photos for the upcoming version of the Superman film show that the shooting location is currently in Cleveland. A building in Cleveland has also been modified to shape the downtown building as Clark’s workplace.
The Daily Planet Building in Cleveland was rebuilt
For James Gunn’s first film in the DC Universe with Superman, the Leader Building on Superior Avenue is being transformed into the Daily Planet building. As IGN reported, the building is still under construction and is being transformed into the Man of Steel’s workplace. However, the fictional newsroom’s banner and its logo of a globe are visible on the building.
According to the comics, the area of Superior Avenue is also being renamed as Metropolis, where the Daily Planet is located. Metropolis is a fictional city in America where Superman lives in the DC universe. According to the pictures that have surfaced online, the surrounding buildings of the iconic workplace have the fictional names of Metropolis businesses.

The main cast of the new Superman movie includes David Corenswet as the superhuman and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. The supporting cast includes Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Neva Howell as Martha Kent, Pruitt Taylor-Vince as Jonathan Kent, Isabella Merced as Hawkgirl and Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific. Recent additions to the cast include Michaela Hoover as Cat Grant who is the gossip columnist at the Daily Planet and Christopher McDonald as Ron Troupe – the coolest reporter in the newsroom according to the comics.
The film has been in production for several weeks under the direction of James Gunn, who also previously directed the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy. The new Superman film is scheduled to be released next year in 2025.
