Jamie Foxx has finally shared some details about his mysterious health condition, which left him hospitalised for several weeks last year. The Hollywood veteran made the revelations in a fan video shot in the city of Phoenix.
Fox, 56, suffered a serious health problem on April 11 last year, which led to a long stay in a hospital in Atlanta. After that, he underwent treatment at a physical rehabilitation center in Chicago.
Fox says he ‘doesn’t remember anything’
Fox is now fully recovered. So far, he has only given brief updates about his health, never fully revealing the reason for his hospitalization. However, this time too Fox refrained from revealing the exact nature of his illness.

In a recent viral video posted on X (formerly Twitter), the Golden Globe Award winner is seen talking to a group of people outside a restaurant.
In his initial description of his condition, he said he had a “terrible headache.”
“See, on April 11th of last year I got a really bad headache, I asked my son for some Advil,” Fox said. “I was gone for 20 days. I don’t remember anything.”
He went into detail about his experience, saying his sister and daughter took him to multiple doctors in Atlanta. “I’m in Atlanta, they told me. My sister, my daughter took me to the first doctor. The next doctor said, ‘There’s something going on,'” Fox explained, nodding.
He declined to elaborate on his position, saying, “I wouldn’t say it on camera. I wouldn’t say it on camera.”
Fox admits his mysterious health problem
“I went through something I thought I would never go through,” he said in a July 2023 Instagram post, adding, “I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear an update, and to be honest with you, I didn’t want you to see me like that.”
The first public update on Fox’s illness came from his 30-year-old daughter Corinne, who posted about her father’s health on social media last April.

“We would like to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,” he wrote on April 23. “Fortunately, due to quick action and good care, he is already recovering.”
Following his initial treatment in Atlanta, TMZ reported that Fox was transferred to a specialist facility in Chicago. By July, he was spotted playing pickleball in the city, indicating significant progress in his recovery. In August, Fox took to Instagram to update his fans, saying, “I’m finally starting to feel like myself… It’s been an unexpected dark journey… but I can see the light.”
