The Beverly Hills Police Department said it responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon around 10 p.m. Friday and determined it was unfounded.
Jamie Foxx required stitches after being hit in the face by glass while celebrating his birthday at a restaurant in Beverly Hills, California, a representative for the actor said. “Someone threw a glass from another table and it hit him in the mouth,” a spokesperson for the actor said in a statement to the newspaper. “He required stitches and is recovering. Police were called and the case is now in the hands of law enforcement.

“Instead, the incident involved a physical altercation between the parties,” a statement from the department said. “BHPD conducted a preliminary investigation and completed a report documenting the battery. No arrests were made.”
A telephone message seeking details was left with Mr Chow on Sunday.
In an Instagram post Sunday morning, Jamie thanked those who checked in on him. Apparently referring to the Mr Chow incident, he wrote, “The devil is busy… but I’m too lucky to be stressed.”
Jamie, who won an Academy Award for his portrayal of Ray Charles in the 2004 film Ray, turned 57 on Friday.
