Janaki vs. State Kerala Film Kerala protested against CBFC

Thiruvananthapuram: Artists of the Malayalam Cinema and Serial Biradari on Monday demonstrated a protest in the regional bureau regional bureau of Chitanalahali Studio under the umbrella of Amma (Association of Malayalam Movie Actor), Producers Association and Fafka (Film Employees Federation of Kerala).

The release of the Malayalam film ‘Janaki vs State of Kerala’ starring Union Minister and superstar Suresh Gopi has been stopped after the demand of a censor board for a name change. According to the producers of the film, the censor board asked him to change the name ‘Janaki’, saying that it also refers to the Hindu goddess Sita.

The film tells the story of a woman who faced the attack and took a legal battle against the state. The board allegedly stated that the name of God should not be given to a woman who was attacked. The release of the film was scheduled for June 20. Union Minister Suresh Gopi has not yet been reacted to the dispute.

The CBFC’s regional office in Thiruvananthapuram approved the film with a U/A certificate. The film was later sent to CBFC headquarters in Mumbai, where officials demanded a change in the title. If the title of the film changes, many dialogues mentioning the name in the film will also need to be changed.

B Unnikrishnan, President, Fefka, told the media, “This is not only a need to oppose the artist, but everyone committed to the diversity of the country, everyone is dedicated to the art and culture of the country. Everyone should come together .. I think Suresh Gopi should learn from his own experience. Poetry, with all creativity.”

CPI state secretary Binoy Vishwam said, “This protest was asking to remove Janaki from the title of CBFC from the title of the film. He has also demanded that the hero’s name should be changed to something else …”

Earlier on Friday, the makers of the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA), B Unnikrishnan, are called “disturbing” and “fans” to the manufacturers of ‘Janaki vs State of Kerala’ to change the name of the film and its title character.

The Kerala High Court has approached the Kerala High Court about the alleged informal instructions from CBFC, producer of ‘Janaki vs State of Kerala’ (JSK), starring Union Minister Suresh Gopi.

Fefka General Secretary Unnikrishnan told ANI, “We are not very definite or clear about the issue about the film JSK. But from our conversation with the director, we understand that CBFC is that CBFC is very curious that the name of the hero is very keen (Anupama Parmeswaran), that the Janak has some more problems.

However, Unnikrishnan said that according to the film, its director, there is no specific religious reference or alliance. ,
“According to the director, the film does not have any specific religious reference or alliance. So this decision is really disturbing and very arbitrary. We are trying to find out what CBFC has to do. We hope that they will present a reason for a reason in the Honorable High Court this afternoon. After the rebellion of that document, we will take appropriate steps and address this issue properly.

The General Secretary of FEFKA also expressed disappointment with the alleged “random tech” on films for the last few years. He said that he is ready to address and discuss such a problem with the officials and the government.
