New Delhi: Actress Janhvi Kapoor found herself at the center of social media criticism after chanting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” during a right elephant festival in Ghatkopar, Mumbai on Saturday (August 16). While the purpose of this moment was to reflect the enthusiasm of patriotism, many Neutzens misunderstood the reference, accused the actress of confusing Janamashtami with Independence Day.

Soon after the video went viral, the social media platform was filled with memes and sarcastic comments. One user commented, “Sanskrit paper took mein calculator,” while in another joke, “this week was so hard -rolling between festivals that he forgot his name and reasons.” A third user called it a “new mess”.

Janhvi responded to criticism with clarification
Responding to backlash, Janhvi Kapoor on Sunday (August 17) took her Instagram story to provide reference. He shared that it was BJP MLA Ram Kadam who first chanting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” at the event, and he only echoed it. However, the viral clip that was broadcast online was edited only to show its share, making it realized that the chanting was started out of the context.
In his post, Janhvi wrote, “After Anaka Boln, Nahi Bolty toh problem, and speak to the video of the video.
