Jat Row: Manufacturers released clarification, remove the controversial church scene after facing protests from Christian bodies

New Delhi:

Production team behind Sunny Deol’s film Jat The film has issued an official statement addressing the concerns raised by members of the Christian community about a scene that was considered “religiously insensitive”.

In his Friday statement, the manufacturers confirmed immediate removal of the controversial scene and apologized for any crime:

“On whom it can be a matter of concern, there has been a backlash for a specific scene in the film. This scene has been removed from the film with immediate effect.

This response follows the police complaint filed at Sadar police station in Jalandhar under Section 299 of the Indian Joint Code against Indian Sunny Deol, Radip Hooda, Vineet Kumar Singh and director Gopichand Malineni.

A complaint lodged by a resident of Falriwal village called Vikal Gold alleged that the film improperly depicted a cruciferous scene in Christianity that included Lord Jesus Christ.

The Flashpoint Jat has a special sequence that features Randeep Hooda, which plays the film’s opponent, Rantunga. In the scene, his character stands inside a church, under a cross, taken out in a posture with weapons that resembles loudly on Jesus Christ’s cross. Their presence provokes a divine personality, as frightened rural or worshipers stand in silence.

The Christian community has specifically angered many people, a mixture of religious symbolism with scenes of violence. A particularly controversial moment shows Randip’s character that he is sent by Jesus Christ, just before opening the fire inside the church during a prayer session.

Blood stains on holy objects and broken glass only combine the crisis among the audience that consider it to be the waste of a sacred place.

In a dialogue in the film’s trailer, the in-visuals, combined with a dialogue, stated that the protesters say that the anti-Christian sentiments could provoke, have been considered “deeply aggressive”. Community leaders have questioned the release of the film as another provocation, a few days after Good Friday.

JatIn the lead role starring Sunny Deol, was released in theaters on April 10, 2025.
