Javed Ali and Ayaz Ismail prepared ‘Kismat’

In his latest achievement, Javed has collaborated with music producer Ayaz Ismail to release ‘Kismat’, a single that blends western influences with Bollywood. Dallas-based Indian-American composer and singer Ayaz Ismail is famous for fusing Indian classical music with modern styles. During Javed’s USA tour in 2022, the two came together for an overnight collaboration, and ‘Kismat’ was composed and recorded at Ayaz’s studio, iThinkSound in Dallas.

Apart from Javed and Ayaz, Kismat has a stellar team comprising Kunal Verma, who has written the soulful lyrics, and Grammy-winning engineer Dave Kutch.

Javed believes that the theme and composition of ‘Kismat’ was inspired by the desire to create something contemporary that would appeal to today’s audience. “Ayaz poured his heart into creating this song, and I matched that intensity in my performance. The production quality, including the mixing, is exceptional, and we recorded the track in America to ensure it had global appeal. I am thrilled that ‘Kismat’ is getting so much love and recognition.

Reflecting on his evolving creative dynamic since his first project, StrangeJaved shared, “Our first collaboration was highly appreciated, and Ayaz and I really connect on a creative level. This second collaboration is equally important and special, with our musical themes matching perfectly. Ayaz is an incredibly talented artist and I deeply admire his style. This new project has important meaning for both of us.”

Ayaz believes that Javed brought the unique, timeless quality of his voice to the song, which makes it special. “Javed’s voice is pure magic – rich, emotional and timeless. What sets his contributions apart is his ability to breathe life into every word, making the emotions tangible. He captured the soul of ‘Kismat’ so beautifully that it feels as if this song was made for him.”

Ayaz says, composing ‘Kismat’ came with its many challenges, especially in combining the music with the emotional depth of the song. “To overcome this, I revisited the composition several times, taking inspiration from my experiences. The process was made easier with the close collaboration of Javed and Kunal, which helped us bring out the true essence of the song and make it authentic.”

Ayaz balances his dual passion for music and design as a professional designer. “Design and music are two sides of the same creative coin for me. Both require storytelling, structure, and emotion. I balance them by treating each as a complementary outlet – focusing my attention on design details and visual storytelling. Plus, music lets me dive into raw emotions and sounds.”

Living in Dallas gives Ayaz a unique blend of Western influences and Indian roots. Ayaz says, “This duality shapes my sound and allows me to create music that is global and rooted in tradition.” , creating something universal but deeply personal.
