Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are moving forward with their latest project, the highly anticipated film Unstoppable. Despite their marital problems fueling divorce rumors and becoming a topic of discussion in Tinseltown, the couple is set to debut the sports biopic with Lopez in the lead role and Affleck behind the scenes as producer. The first look of the film was released on Thursday. Although the couple has been living apart for some time, the red carpet premiere could bring them together again.

Jennifer Lopez and Jharrel Jerome are teaming up for the inspirational wrestling biopic “Unstoppable.” Based on the true story of Anthony Robles, the film offers a glimpse into the life of a determined athlete who overcame all obstacles. Directed by William Goldenberg and produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s production company Artists Equity, the film is set to make its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

Amazon MGM Studios released the first photos from the film this week, showing the Atlas star as Anthony’s fierce and supportive mother, Judy. Despite recent reports of a separation and selling their marital home, Lopez and Affleck remain professionally committed, and are collaborating on this upcoming project.

The Cast of Unstoppable

The cast of Unstoppable includes well-known actors such as Jarrell Jerome, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Pena, and Don Cheadle. These actors will bring to life the fascinating story of Anthony Robles, a wrestler who was born with one leg but overcame the odds to win the NCAA National Championship title in 2011. The film is the pop star’s second consecutive project for streaming services, right after Atlas on Netflix.

Jennifer Lopez ready for sports biopic

The Jenny From The Block singer has reportedly been battling personal and professional challenges following a failed musical comeback, cancelled LA residency and marital issues with Ben Affleck. Despite these setbacks, she seems confident about her new film, sharing a first look on her Instagram.

Though she did not mention or credit Affleck’s production company, Lopez did post photos of herself hugging Jharrel Jerome as she played a mother. The project marks Lopez and Affleck’s second film collaboration since their marriage in 2022, following their first joint effort, This Is Me… Now: A Love Story, which was released in February.

“It’s so fun to do something with her, to watch her do great things, to go to work with your wife, to go to work with your best friend,” Affleck told CBS last year. “It might not seem like she’s doing me a favor by doing all of this, but she really is,” he praised Lopez.
