Jennifer Lopez unexpectedly faced a question about her breakup with former baseball player Alex Rodriguez in 2021 during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Wednesday. Cohen, who is known for his bold questions, didn’t hold back from asking Lopez about rumors that Rodriguez had exchanged direct messages with Southern Charm castmate Madison LeCroy, reports Cosmopolitan.
Lopez, 56, then paused for a moment when Cohen asked if Rodriguez DM’ing LeCroy led to their breakup.
Lopez said, “I don’t really have anything to say about my personal life anymore. I think I’m over it.”

Lopez and Rodriguez began dating in 2017 and got engaged two years later. However, they ended their engagement in April 2021 by releasing a joint statement saying that they realized they were “better as friends”.
Just weeks before their breakup was announced, reports circulated that the couple split over messages Rodriguez allegedly sent to LeCroy. Speculation began when Southern Charm star Craig Conover accused LeCroy of having a liaison with a “former MLB player” during a reunion episode.
LeCroy denied any physical relationship with Rodriguez. He told Page Six that he never physically cheated on his fiancée. He further said, “We have spoken on the phone but never met in person.”
Rodriguez’s publicist, Ron Berkowitz, also dismissed the rumors at the time and urged people not to pay attention to “false stories”.

Madison LeCroy’s version of events
According to US Weekly, LeCroy has since spoken out about the incident more than once. In a 2023 episode of a podcast called Pillows & Bear, which is hosted by her ex-boyfriend Austen Kroll, LeCroy recalled that Rodriguez was repeatedly trying to reach her via FaceTime. She said: “I said to (Alex), ‘If you’re considering a mistress, which he clearly was, it wouldn’t be me. I’m wife material.'”
However, Rodriguez has always denied LeCroy’s allegations, and has maintained his stance.
