Washington: Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are reportedly splitting up again.
Lopez, 55, filed for divorce from Affleck, 52, after a marriage that lasted just two years. The news was first reported by TMZ and later confirmed to People magazine by multiple sources.
Lopez reportedly filed divorce papers in Los Angeles County Superior Court on August 20, setting the separation date as April 26, 2024, reports Variety.
The singer has opted to represent herself in the legal proceedings. The couple’s marriage kicked off with a surprise wedding in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022, followed by a larger ceremony in Georgia on August 20, 2022, marking the second anniversary of their traditional wedding ceremony.
According to People magazine, the two have no prenuptial agreement.

Lopez and Affleck rekindled their relationship in 2021, nearly 17 years after their initial engagement was called off in 2003.
The couple, affectionately called Bennifer by their fans, officially ended their first engagement in January 2004 but maintained a friendly relationship over the years. The couple made their new romance public in April 2021, following Lopez’s split from former MLB star Alex Rodriguez.
They made their relationship official on social media in July 2021 and were spotted together at the Venice Film Festival the same year.
Lopez and Affleck announced their engagement in April 2022, which culminated with their surprise wedding in Las Vegas.
They celebrated with a lavish ceremony in Georgia, attended by celebrities like Matt Damon, Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes.
According to People magazine, the ceremony was emceed by podcaster and life coach Jay Shetty.
Lopez has twins Max and Emme (16) with her ex-husband Marc Anthony, while Affleck has three children with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner – Violet Anne (18), Seraphina Rose (15) and Samuel (12).
The couple most recently collaborated on Lopez’s Prime Video music documentary “This Is Me… Now: A Love Story,” which accompanied her album release in February, making it one of their last joint projects.
Rumours of marital discord began circulating in May, when they spent considerable time apart.
Lopez was busy promoting her film and upcoming tour, while Affleck was in Los Angeles filming ‘The Accountant 2’.
Their relationship appeared to be strained, as they spent much of the summer on opposite coasts; Lopez reportedly stayed in the Hamptons and Affleck in Los Angeles.
In June he listed his Beverly Hills mansion for sale, and then in July Affleck purchased a new $20 million home.
According to People magazine, Lopez and Affleck were no longer living together, and Lopez had reportedly not seen Affleck for several weeks before filing the suit.
