Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s $60 million marital mansion in Beverly Hills made headlines when the couple decided to put it back on the market for an asking price of $68 million. Now, according to a source close to the couple, the decision to acquire the lavish property was primarily Affleck’s idea and was a ‘huge compromise’ for Jennifer Lopez. The popstar was reportedly never a ‘fan’ of their lavish place they bought after marriage. Jennifer Lopez has ‘never been a fan’ of her marital home
Over the past several months, there have been reports that Affleck was upset with JLo’s lavish lifestyle and constant media presence, however, a source told PEOPLE that “the $68 million mansion was Ben’s idea.” The Atlas star only agreed to it because of “its spacious layout, space for both families to live, a gym and a pickleball court, office space, plus it has two private entrances.”
Jennifer Lopez likes ‘romantic spaces’, not ‘ultra modern’
According to the report, the luxurious mansion, which features 12 bedrooms, 24 bathrooms, a huge poolside area and other amenities, has been on the market for several months without a buyer. The home was large enough to house JLo and Affleck’s blended family, which includes Affleck’s three children—Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12—and Lopez’s 16-year-old twins Max and Emme. However, according to a source, the singer didn’t like the modern look of the home. “She loves the romantic, Spanish, European vibe.”

This is not an ideal purchase for Ben Affleck
A second source has refuted the claim that Ben Affleck was solely responsible for the decision to purchase the mansion. While Affleck may have initially proposed the idea, the source suggests that the location was not ideal for him in other respects.
According to the source, the Accountant 2 star’s primary preference and his children’s life is centered in Brentwood. That’s why he moved into a rented house in Brentwood months ago, fueling rumors of a split with Lopez. “His life is in Brentwood. His kids live there,” the source said. “It was too painful and time-consuming for Ben to cross traffic by their house. He never liked it.”
J.Lo looking for a home in Los Angeles
While Affleck recently bought a $20 million home in LA, the pop star is also house hunting. According to PEOPLE, she has been looking for a new home in Los Angeles since April, which matches the date of separation mentioned in her divorce application. Reportedly, Lopez listed April 26 as the official date of separation.
News broke in June that the former spouses, who filed for divorce in August, were selling their luxury Beverly Hills home. They put it up for sale shortly after.

Despite being different on the work front and in their personal lives, the two Gigli The co-stars are still collaborating on their joint project stopA sports biopic starring Lopez in the lead role. Affleck is producing the film with Matt Damon. JLo is expected to attend the Toronto International Film Festival in support of her new film, which premieres on Friday, September 6.
