While neither Ben nor Jen have commented publicly on their current marital status and hiccups, a friend close to the situation has suggested the couple’s journey is a glorious but potentially heartbreaking one.

After months of speculation about their breakup, recent reports suggest that the Gigli co-stars have already finalized their divorce papers and are now preparing a joint statement before any contentious legal battles begin. According to a friend, both Affleck and Lopez got caught up in nostalgia and the desire to make their long-held dream from twenty years ago a reality.

“They have turned the page on unfinished business from more than 20 years ago. They have seen things through to the end – and now they know for sure that they are not ready to go on for long,” a close friend of the couple told PageSix. “There are no more unanswered questions. They have seen all they had to see, and now it’s over,” they added.
A friend who knows the couple said that Jennifer Lopez had always wanted a lavish wedding with lots of glitz and style. She had “wanted this wedding – the gown, the friends, all the trimmings and decorations – for decades.” The couple’s love was rekindled, with a second wave of happiness, fueled by the excitement of being together again.

“In the end, it will be the most elaborate and expensive finale ever,” the friend added.
After their initial engagement ended in 2004, the question of “what if” lingered for the two, which eventually led them to get back together and tie the knot in 2022. The wedding, which thrilled fans and instilled the belief that lost love can be regained even after two decades, took place in two lavish ceremonies in Los Angeles and Georgia.

Another source told Page Six that the couple is expected to announce their split to fans by the end of the summer. Recently, both Ben and Jen have been spotted without their wedding rings and have been avoiding each other all summer, even missing their second anniversary and Ben not going to JLo’s birthday.
Now, sources believe the Atlas star is feeling ‘humiliated’ because she has made such a big deal about her marriage to the actor. “He feels humiliated because she has made such a big deal that he is the love of her life,” a source told PageSix. “They’ve had two weddings already in two years. That’s some kind of record, they’re not young kids.”
Just a few months ago the pop star made her highly-anticipated comeback with This Is Me…Now and was preparing for her multi-million dollar residency in LA. The Jenny From The Block singer also released her Amazon Prime documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told, which features Affleck and draws inspiration from their relationship. However, her residency has since been cancelled and her love life is on the brink of falling apart.
