He clarified some facts by referring to the song The Black Dog from Swift’s last released album, The Tortured Poets Department.
Joe Alvin clarifies he’s never been to the Black Dog Pub
According to People, in an interview with the Sunday Times, the Mary Queen of Scots actor clarified a few things about the song The Black Dog. The Black Dog is a popular pub in the Vauxhall area of London. Given that Joe is known as the London Boy from Taylor Swift’s song of the same name, fans speculated that the song The Black Dog is also about him. The speculation arose from the lyrics in which he talked about seeing someone at the mentioned pub.
However, in a recent interview, Joe clarified that he has “never been to a bar called the Black Dog.” The British actor further explained, “It probably sounds similar to you or anyone else – meeting friends, travelling, going to the pub. Can I make a more boring list than that?” He talked about his regular outdoor activities. Joe also said, “I’ve never been to Vauxhall.”

Joe opens up about handling the split under public scrutiny
Joe opened up about his six-year-long relationship with Swift and how difficult it is to be under public scrutiny after it ends. He hoped people would empathise with him as he deals with these difficult times following their separation last year and respect his decision not to speak about it publicly.
“I hope everyone can empathize and understand the difficulties that come with the end of a long, loving, fully committed relationship of over six and a half years,” the actor said, according to Page Six.
He continued, saying what is “unusual and unusual” about “this situation” is that a week later the information is “in the public domain and the outside world can consider it.” He added that “there will always be a gap between what is known and what is said” and that he has made peace with that.
