John Abraham urged CJI to review SC’s order, saying they are not stress, they are community dogs

New Delhi: Actor John Abraham has written to the Chief Justice of India Bra Gawai, urging him to review the order of the recent stray dog passed by the Supreme Court.

In his letter, John wrote, “I hope you will agree that they are not ‘stress’, but community dogs-email and loved many people, and in themselves too much Delhi, lived as neighbors for humans for generations in this region.”

He said that Animal Birth Control (ABC) Dog Rules 2023 requires sterilization, vaccination and return of community dogs-an approach supported by the Since Health Organization and Jaipur (70 percent of dogs sterilization) and Lucknow (84 percent) proved to be effective in cities.

John said, “With an estimated 1 million community dogs, the canine population of Delhi is its true resident. It is neither practical nor human to give shelter or move all of them.”

John, who became the first honorary director of PETA India earlier this year, requested the CJI to request to see the case through “compassion, science-based solutions and compliance with Indian law” for the safety of animals.

“Conversely, the displacement bus fails. Delhi has an estimated 1 million dogs. It is neither practical nor human to move or move all of them, and only unfolufactically opens the door to the unfamiliar, unwanted, and without dogs, which leads to greater competition, regional disputes, and public health risks, which is a public health risks, which is a public health and co -stake for this judicial health and public health risks. Honoring the constitutional values, the Supreme Court has retained continuously since 2015, “he appealed.

On Monday, a bench of Justices JB Pardwala and R Mahadevan said that all areas should be freed from stray dogs and there should be no compromise. It also made it clear that no animals would be released back on the streets. It also orders contempt proceedings against any person or organization that tries to obstruct the authorities to exclude the capture drive.
Justice Pardwala said, “If a person or organization comes in the way of choosing stray dogs or scoring them, we will proceed to take action against any such resistance.” The apex court also directed the states and municipal authorities to direct the dog shelters to sterilize and immunize with enough employees.

“NCT Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Ghaziabad, MCD, and NMDCs will start choosing stray dogs from all areas, especially from more weaker areas. It is to see the authorities, and if they have to create a force as soon as possible. However, it is necessary to do the first and most exercise.

It further directed that officers in Delhi-NCR should install a helpline so that all dog bite complaints can be registered, in which an aggressive animal was raised within four hours of a complaint. It also ordered all the officials to maintain a record of daily stray dogs and detained. The bench stated that CCTV surveillance would ensure compliance, and any dog should be released back to road or public places.
