Johnny Depp’s lawyer suggests Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs should take the stand to address sex trafficking allegations.
Actor Johnny Depp’s lawyer has advised Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs that he will have to take the stand and plead his case. The disgraced mogul is currently being held in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn after being charged with sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. However, he has denied all the allegations against him and is looking forward to his arraignment scheduled for May 5, 2025. Depp’s lawyer represented the actor during his 2022 lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard.

Johnny Depp’s lawyer shares his thoughts
Depp’s attorney, Benjamin Chew, recently appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored and shared his thoughts about Diddy’s case. According to their expert advice, due to the video of Mogul dragging and hitting his ex-girlfriend, he will be “forced” to take the stand and testify. The lawyer assisted Depp in his lawsuit where Amber accused him of domestic violence and making violent threats.
Chew revealed on the TV show, “It will force him to testify, and I think if he convinces one or two jurors to hang that jury he’ll get a lot more attention than that apology video.” Gotta do better. I don’t like his chances… The video is very damaging in any litigation, whether criminal or civil because it’s hard to explain,” as reported by The Mirror US.
The lawyer believed that Diddy would have to explain what happened in court and said, “He was very sorry about it, but that was an aberration; that was a mistake.” He’s not like that.”

Didi’s not testifying could be ‘harmful’ for her
Depp’s lawyer highlighted that it could be “damaging” to the rapper if he decides not to testify in court. Chew explained, “She has to take ownership of it and say, ‘I did a terrible thing. I’ll regret it for the rest of my life, but that doesn’t mean I’m involved in sex trafficking.’ He has to look the jury in the eye and say this and say it firmly.”
After the video leaked, Diddy immediately released an apology video on Instagram. However, the lawyer believed that Mughal “has to actually take responsibility and not just utter words.” When he said he was sorry, it wasn’t true. I would like to see more emotion there.”
