What did Jonathan say?

Jonathan was caught by TMZ walking down the street and asked about his reaction to Robert replacing him as the new MCU villain. “Yeah, heartbroken. Of course. I love Kang. Doctor Doom is evil,” he said. When asked if he thinks it’s fair that Robert is given another chance by Marvel after his 1996 arrest for possession of heroin, cocaine and an unloaded gun, Jonathan replied, “I think it’s fair that Mr. Downey has been welcomed with patience and curiosity and love and allowed to work on (his) art and be creative on that level. I don’t really understand it.”

“Absolutely yes! Absolutely yes! I love him. I love Kang. If that’s what the fans want, and that’s what Marvel wants, then let’s get started. Absolutely yes,” he said, when asked if he would like a similar chance to reprise his role of Kang in the MCU. In December 2023, Jonathan was found guilty by a Manhattan jury on one count of third-degree assault and one count of second-degree harassment. Although he avoided prison, the actor was sentenced to participate in an intervention program. Following the conviction, Majors was removed from future MCU films by Marvel Studios, including the next two installments of The Avengers.

Robert Downey Jr. returns to the MCU

Roberts, who established the MCU as a money-making giant with his role as Iron Man, is returning to the franchise, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige announced at San Diego Comic-Con last week. However, the actor, who ended Iron Man’s story with a nail-biting ending in Avengers: Endgame, will not play the character again but instead play the villain Victor Von Doom or Doctor Doom in two upcoming Avengers movies.

The upcoming films, Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, will be directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, who are returning to the franchise after Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
