Troubled American actor Jonathan Majors has landed his first feature film role after being convicted in a domestic violence case.

In ruthlessMajors will play a top CIA interrogator who finds his girlfriend possessed by an evil force, and is forced to delve even deeper into the dark to defeat it.
Villeneuve, known for the science-fiction film Mars and AprilFrank will direct the project from a script written by Hannah. Christopher Tuffin will produce alongside Kevin Townsend and Kevin DeWalt. Amanda Delaplane, Chris Ochs, Andrew Bates, and Ben DeWalt will serve as executive producers.
Majors was considered one of the rising stars of Hollywood, having given commendable performances in movies and shows such as Lovecraft Country, Creed IIIand Marvel titles Ant-Man and the Wasp: QuantumaniaThat was before a highly publicized trial for assaulting his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari sent him into a tailspin.
In December 2023, a Manhattan jury found him guilty of one count of third-degree assault and one count of second-degree harassment. Although he avoided prison time, the actor was sentenced to participate in an intervention program.
Following his conviction, Majors was dropped by Marvel Studios, who had cast him as Kang the Conqueror, the supervillain character he was set to play in future Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films.
