She was asked about her other film projects while attending the Chelsea Flower Show in London this week. She said mirror“No, no. I can’t even see it!”

When asked for further comment on Judy’s remarks, her agent intervened and said she had nothing further to say. The Oscar winner last appeared in the 2022 film Spirited.

Judy, 89, suffers from macular degeneration in her eyes, which can cause permanent and rapid loss of central vision.

about the condition of his eyes

The actress first revealed she was diagnosed with macular degeneration in 2012 after speculation arose about her vision.

At an event for the London-based Vision Foundation in 2021, she spoke about how she is coping with her vision, which is deteriorating, when it comes to reading scripts.

“You just find a way to move on and get through the things that you find too difficult. I’ve had to find another way to learn lines and things, which is to have my good friends repeat them to me over and over again,” Judy said, “So I have to learn through repetition, and I just hope people won’t notice too much if all the lines are completely depressing!”

During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show in February 2023, Judi explained that as her vision gets worse, it becomes harder for her to remember lines, as she has a photographic memory.

“I need a machine that will not only teach me my lines but also tell me where they appear on the page,” said Philomena Starr. “I found it very easy to learn the lines and remember them. I could do a whole run of Twelfth Night right now.”

Judy’s illustrious career

Judi made her stage debut in 1957 and became one of the world’s most respected icons. In 1998 she won an Oscar for her eight-minute role as Queen Elizabeth I in Shakespeare in Love. She gained a new fan base in pop culture with her role as M, James Bond’s boss in the security service MI6, in eight films starting with the 1995 film GoldenEye and ending with a cameo role in 2015’s Spectre.
