Junior NTR pays tribute to grandfather NTR on his 29th death anniversary

Hyderabad: On January 18, Saturday, the Nandamuri family gathered at the NTR Ghat to pay tribute to renowned actor and former chief minister of united Andhra Pradesh, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) on his 29th death anniversary.

On this sad occasion, heartfelt tributes were paid to the iconic figure who had a profound impact on both the Telugu film industry and Indian politics.

Actor Jr NTR, who is NTR’s grandson, was among the prominent family members who visited the memorial at NTR Ghat in Hyderabad.

The family along with TDP (Telugu Desam Party) leader and actor Nandamuri Balakrishna honored the memory of the late leader.


Paying tribute to NTR, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said, “The humanist who first introduced the phrase ‘Society is the temple…people are God’ into politics…NTR is a great man who Prosperity in the lives of the poor. His death anniversary Governance with welfare, development and well-being… Let us achieve the egalitarian society that NTR wanted, who proved that “power means the opportunity to transform the lives of the poor” . They said that We will work tirelessly to achieve NTR’s ambition…We are committed to making this the number one Telugu state…I pay tribute to the erudite man on his death anniversary.”

TDP general secretary and senior minister in AP, Nara Lokesh also paid his tribute, saying, “On the occasion of the 29th death anniversary of the great man and world famous actor Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, I pay my respects to the great man. NTR is not a name.. He emerged as a king of Telugu and a great leader in Telugu politics. The Desam Party was built on the principles of self-respect, social justice and public welfare – the people were my eternal inspiration in the hearts of millions of people. This is my tribute on the occasion of his death anniversary.”

Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, widely known by his initials NTR, was a man who made lasting contributions to the Indian film industry and the political landscape of Andhra Pradesh. The former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for seven years, NTR served for three terms.

NTR died of a heart attack at his residence in Hyderabad on 18 January 1996 at the age of 72.
