The internet is speculating whether Justin Baldoni and It Ends With Us co-star Blake Lively have had a falling out. A new report explains how they’re trying to fix it.
The internet is abuzz with the rift between Blake Lively and her ‘It Ends With Us’ co-star Justin Baldoni, who also directed the romantic drama. The Hollywood Reporter Claims are that as a result, Justin has hired experienced crisis PR manager Melissa Nathan to minimize the damage. Justin hires crisis PR
Melissa previously represented actor Johnny Depp in his long, much-publicised legal battle with his ex-wife Amber Heard. Though Justin’s crisis is only a fraction of that so far, it is certainly growing bigger by the day. It started before the film’s release when the internet started buzzing that Blake and Justin were not doing joint interviews to promote their film. They were not even seen clicking together at the New York premiere of It Ends With Us.
The report claims that the rift between the two began during post production when Blake tasked her husband Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Wolverine editor Shane Reed with creating a cut for the film that was quite different from the one Justin had commissioned. Since then, there have been rumors that Justin made Blake feel uncomfortable on set.
Justin’s Recent Interviews
In recent interviews, ever since It Ends With Us earned an unexpected $50 million at the North American box office last weekend, Justin has been very complimentary of Blake’s contributions to the film. He’s also proud that he held back during filming to give female voices like Blake’s a chance to take charge, as It Ends With Us is primarily made from a female perspective and tackles sensitive issues like domestic abuse.
It Ends With Us cost just $25 million to produce, so it will turn a significant profit for co-financiers Columbia Pictures and Wayfarer Studios. Blake is also a co-producer. Based on Colleen Hoover’s bestselling romance novel, the film stars Blake as Lily Bloom, a Boston florist torn between two men, one from her current life (Justin) and the other her first love (Brandon Sklenar).
