I can’t cry over this! In a surprising turn during his Boston concert, Justin Timberlake poked fun at his recent DWI arrest. The Forget Tomorrow World Tour singer returned to the stage with full energy, weeks after his legal trouble following his arrest in Sag Harbor, New York. Reports first surfaced that Timberlake was concerned about the impact the detention would have on the tour. Now, it seems he has opted to address the situation with a light-hearted joke, leaving fans stunned so to speak.

During his concert stop in Boston, the SexyBack singer opened up about his recent arrest for drunk driving. The 43-year-old singer was in the middle of his tour performing at TD Garden when a fan captured a video of him joking about the incident. In the clip, Timberlake asks the crowd, “So uh, is there anybody here driving drunk tonight?” When the crowd began cheering and booing, he quickly added, “No, I’m just joking.”

After his funny aside about his DUI arrest, Timberlake quickly brought the conversation back on track. “Is there anybody here tonight that’s come to the show for the first time? Is there anybody here that’s been to our 1st, 2nd, 3rd, maybe 4th show?” he said, adding, “For all of you who are coming tonight for the first time — seriously — I hope you feel the fellowship and the love.”
Justin Timberlake felt ‘remorseful and ashamed’
Timberlake first spoke out about the situation at Chicago’s United Center, expressing gratitude to fans for supporting him, saying, “I’m here … I know sometimes I’m hard to love, but keep loving me and I love you too. Thank you so much.”

According to a source speaking to ET, the DWI arrest “has taken a toll on him, but he’s trying to look at it as a way to reinvent himself.” The insider further claimed that Timberlake is “feeling remorse, shame and humiliation, taking the situation seriously and acknowledging its potential impact on his family dynamics, on him as a husband and father, as well as on his fans.”
The singer was arrested on June 18 and reportedly spent a night in custody, where he appeared to be nervous about the situation. The pop star was detained by a young police officer who was unaware of the singer’s identity and asked him to undergo a breathalyzer test, which he refused. Timberlake, who looked red and glassy-eyed, was stopped in the Hamptons on suspicion of running a stop sign and drifting out of his lane. He later failed sobriety tests. The 43-year-old, who had spent the evening at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor, Long Island, admitted to drinking just one martini before getting behind the wheel.
