Justin Timberlake’s attorney broke his silence on Wednesday regarding Timberlake, 43,’s DWI arrest. The NSYNC alumnus was taken to the Sag Harbor Police Station on Tuesday after breaking a signpost by failing to stay in his lane. “I look forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake on these charges,” attorney Edward Burke Jr. said in a statement to Us Weekly.

Burke Jr. added, “I will have more to say at the appropriate time, but right now I am awaiting the full investigation from the District Attorney’s office,” adding, “This charge was singled out because he refused a breath test. Mr. Timberlake was also charged with two other court charges, ignoring a stop sign and failing to travel in the correct traffic lane.”
The Better Place singer told police he “had a martini and I followed my friends home,” when he was arrested by law enforcement officers at a traffic stop, according to CNN. The outlet reports that “his breath smelled strongly of alcohol.” Timberlake refused to take a breath test three times after being taken to the police station.
The Sag Harbor Police Department released a photo of Timberlake along with a statement addressing the arrest, which read, “On June 18, 2024, at 12:37 a.m., Justin R. Timberlake, 43, of Tennessee was observed driving a 2025 BMW southbound on Madison Street, failing to stop at a duly posted stop sign and failing to maintain his lane of travel.”
“A police officer from the Sag Harbor Village Police Department initiated a traffic stop and upon investigation determined that Mr. Timberlake was operating his vehicle while impaired by intoxication,” the statement added. It also said that the Mirrors hitmaker was “arrested, processed and detained overnight pending arraignment proceedings in the morning” and was released “on his own recognizance” after a court appearance.
