Kajol took on Instagram to share an emotional post for her uncle Deb Mukherjee, and wrote that she is still ‘adjusting the idea of a world without her.’
Leaving a throbac picture with his uncle on social media, Kajol gave a heartfelt note for the late experienced actor.
He wrote, “Tradition said that every Durga Puja we will click on the pictures together. When we were all wearing clothes and looked good. I am still adjusting a world’s idea without him. One of the best men who I know anytime. I will relax peacefully. You will be loved, remembered, and remember every day of my life.”
The picture shared by Kajol on his IG appears to be from one of the Durga Puja celebrations.
Deb Mukherjee, the father of director Ayan Mukherjee, died on March 14, 2025 at the age of 83.
He was cremated at Pawan Hans crematorium in Juhu area of Mumbai. Many members of the film fraternity arrived to pay their final honors to the experienced actor.
Actor Ranbir Kapoor, who is very close to Ayan, even proceeded to pursue beer during the funeral.
Ranbir and wife Alia Bhatt cut their Alibaug trip to live with Ayan during these difficult times.
Director Karan Johar, actor Hrithik Roshan and experienced screenwriter Salim Khan were also present with others at the ceremony.
For Anward, Deb Mukherjee came from a film family. His mother, Satiidevi, Ashok Kumar, Anup Kumar and Kishore Kumar were the only sister. Actor Joy Mukherjee and filmmaker Shomu Mukherjee were his brother.
He was married twice. The experienced actor has a daughter Sunita from her first marriage, who is married to director Ashutosh Goverkar. Ayan is his son from his second marriage.
Deb Mukherjee started his career with small roles in the 1960s, and became a supportive actor in films like that Whatever won that Alexander And Raja uncle,
His last onscreen appearance was a cameo in Vishal Bhardwaj’s 2009 drama Bastard,
