Kalki Koechlin welcomed her daughter Sappho with partner Guy Hershberg on February 7, 2020.
She spoke candidly about the challenges she faced in the early years of pregnancy and parenting.
Speaking to ANI, the actress explained how pregnancy takes a physical and emotional toll on a woman.
He reiterated that according to him this topic is not discussed much in our society.
“I think as a mother when you give birth, first of all, the whole nine months of pregnancy. Then giving birth to a baby, then postpartum, it takes a lot out of you. Your body adapts to another person. It’s like a slave to you, literally, just an incubation system for the baby. The baby is taking all your nutrients and energy.”
She further added, “Even the first 6 months were very tough, you had to stay up all night to feed him, you didn’t get proper sleep. You are really all over the place. My nutrition also got disturbed. Because I was breastfeeding, everything was going to the baby, you’re like, who am I?
Kalki Koechlin said, “I felt really lost. So, I think that part was difficult and people don’t talk about how difficult that part is.”
After this Kalki told how she has developed a good relationship with her daughter Sappho.
He shared, “My daughter has become talkative. We share secrets. I also tell her my problems. It’s like I have a new friend. We get along very well. She understands me and helps me with my work.” Gives freedom to do.”
