Mumbai: The trailer of upcoming film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ was released on Monday and it promises to be a gripping sci-fi adventure film.
The trailer begins with an apocalyptic world, where resources are in dire shortage and water is a luxury.
The 2.51-minute trailer blends Indian mythology with science-fiction and VFX, with Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan playing the role of Ashwatthama and vowing to protect Deepika Padukone, who is shown pregnant in the film’s trailer.
This child will likely end the reign of Shashvat Chatterjee, who lives in this complex with all the facilities required to sustain life.
Telugu star Prabhas is shown in grey shades as he acts at the behest of Chatterjee’s character. As the trailer progresses, the audience gets to see an epic fight between Big B and Prabhas.
Talking about the film, director Nag Ashwin said, “Today my heart is filled with so many emotions. As a filmmaker, I have always been fascinated by Indian mythology and science fiction. Combining these two elements in ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has been nothing less than a dream come true, made possible by the incredible talent and dedication of our cast and team.”
He also mentioned the long travel the crew did during filming.
He added, “It took us a long time to see this day. From our producers and star cast to the brilliant creative minds and the entire team of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, everyone has put their heart and soul into this film. We hope the trailer will make the Telugu audience and the entire country proud and get them excited for what’s to come.”
Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ will release in theatres on June 27.
