Smillie Suri, who became a household name after her role in Kalyug, recently shared a heartwarming memory of teaching dance to her cousin Alia Bhatt. For those who don’t know, she is the niece of Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt and cousin of both Alia Bhatt and Mohit Suri. In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Smillie Suri recalled, “Alia is very sweet. I was her teacher when she was very young. She was barely four years old. I was 16 but I was asked to teach dance at the age of 18.”
Smillie added, “When I got to their house, little Aaliyah was there, with two or three other little kids. I immediately said, ‘OK, I’m starting the class.’ Her parents were standing nearby. If I said, ‘Stand on one leg,’ she would stand up. She was very sweet and still is.”
However, the actress revealed that she hasn’t met Alia and Ranbir’s daughter Rhea yet. “I haven’t met her. But she’s beautiful,” Suri revealed. Smiley made her Bollywood debut with Kalyug, directed by her brother Mohit Suri, where she starred alongside Kunal Kemmu, who also made his acting debut. The action-thriller featured her cousin Emraan Hashmi in a supporting role.
Talking about the professional front, Alia Bhatt was last seen in Karan Johar’s film. rocky and rani love story with Ranveer Singh. Next, she is getting ready for Vasan Bala’s film Jigra She is accompanied by Vedang Raina of Archies fame. Apart from this, she also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-awaited film Love and War, which also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal alongside her.
