The word Malayalam means ‘Kamamattam’ means a mint or a place where the currency or, more specially coins are mined. KamamattamThus, but the ZEE5 is a fitting title for the Malayalam debut series, which depicts a financial fraud determined by members of a cooperative bank in Kerala. With raw materials of this true crime story, director-writer Shaan Thulasidharan creates a dark world where greed exposes a series of events that exit the control of the characters.

Sudev Nair shines as Antonio George, a calm policeman, which cracks the simple hit-and-run case of Samuel Omman, the owner of a local plantation. As the investigation proceeds, they realize that the accident was actually a murder, and they soon stumble over the mass fraud done by the cooperative bank officials.
Kamamattam (malayalam)
Director: Shaan Thulasidhan
Mold: Sudev Nair, Jio Baby, Akhil Kavaleyur, Ajay Vasudev, Jens Bhaskar
Episode: 4
Runtime: 20 minutes each
Story: A thriller based on real -life incident of financial fraud in a cooperative bank and police team
Like all police processes, Kamamattam Gradually, the first starts with three-half-and-half episodes, which lays the foundation of the coming time, as the police crack the case. As the audience, we are not private to those parts of the investigation that carry the plot twist. Instead of showing step-by-step, Shaan uses Antonio for exposure when he faces criminals during interrogation. You don’t see some twists in the upcoming story; Just when you think you can wonder what happened, Antonio draws a single from its sleeve, sets us back to class-one.
Each episode is a taut in 20-odd minutes, which is why no character feels completely out. Only those that we get some insight are Samuel Omn (Jio Baby) and Francis, while the rest are tragically unilateral. Or perhaps Shan wanted to keep it in this way – money was the only inspiration in the lives of these characters. The only glimpse we get on the character of Antonio is his commitment for his workout Regimeen (a clarification is probably why Sudev looked so buff?).

However, Sudev is a revelation. As we see him focusing on the facts of the case, you can listen to the cog almost turning in his head. And the smile to know when he shows them that his deception never raises a chance! Kamamattam Shows what the actor is capable – perhaps Malayalam cinema can now give him meetier roles. To digest, the Malayalam OTT gives directors an opportunity to detect the talents of familiar faces, which offers their ability to perform.
The chain mood is dark and somber, clinging to cinematography and color palette. However, one feels colliding with the darkness of these characters, who go about killing others and turning on each other on a sign of trouble. What more menacing is the fact that they appear to be normal or regular folk, which also do not hesitate to resort to murder on a drop of a hat. Sometimes, when it comes to money, perhaps close family and friends cannot be trusted.

Kamamattam Interestingly, the series has all the elements of a thriller, and it works extensively. But there is some lack, is it speed or its sharpness? You can probably still see it for Sudev Nair’s performance, very least.
