Mumbai: After a long legal battle spread over five years, the Bollywood actress has resolved MP-MP Kangana Ranaut and veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar to solve their defamation cases through mediation. Ending their public and court quarrels, both have now found common land, and Kangana also took on Instagram to share updates with her fans – as well as a photo of her smiling together.
Announcing the resolution of his controversy, Kangana wrote, “Today, Javed ji and I have solved our legal matter (defamation case) through mediation. During this process, Javed ji was very kind and decent. He even agreed to write songs for my next direction. ,

The conflict between Kangana and Javed Akhtar began in 2020, when the actress gave a controversial interview after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. During the conversation, he claimed that Akhtar once called him to his house and pressured him to apologize to Hrithik Roshan, with which she was involved in a public dispute about her alleged relationship.
“Once Javed Akhtar called me to his house and told me that Rakesh Roshan (Hrithik Roshan’s father) and his family are very powerful people. If you do not apologize to them, you will not have to go anywhere. They will put you in jail, and finally, the only way for you will be destroying … you will commit suicide. These were his words. Subsequently, Javed Akhtar filed a defamation suit against Kangana, claiming that his statements were false and harmful to her reputation.
During the court proceedings, Akhtar denied Kangana’s claims and said that there was no personal vengeance against him.
“Whatever Kangana said in the interview is a lie and nothing is there. I told him about the agenda of the meeting on the call. I did not call him to discuss the weather, political situation or US elections in 2016, ”he said.
He also clarified that when he praised Kangana as an actor, he had no personal relationship with him. However, during his meeting, he chose to change the subject that he once realized that Kangana was not open to hear.
Given the intensity of his legal war, the news of his disposal came as a surprise. While the description of arbitration is private, the fact that Akhtar has agreed to write songs for Kangana’s upcoming direction project, suggests that both sides have crossed their differences.
